Photovoltaic investments: specific issues for insurance
Insurance for roof-mounted photovoltaic power plants is a sensitive subject depending on the activity carried out inside the building, in particular on agricultural sites that use hay and feed and which tend to have a high level of claim rates.
To make these types of power plants insurable with effective conditions, legal engineering and customized prevention-protection programs must be used.
For solar fields and photovoltaic parking canopies, we carry out an analysis of theft and vandalism risks as well as adequate prevention and protection means to optimize insurance budgets.
Our contract wording is preferred by specialized auditors, notably those mandated by lending institutions. Our insurable asset analysis is particularly appreciated. We are, thus, privileged representatives to public authorities.
What we cover for photovoltaic investors
Alexis Assurance underwrites damage insurance for power plants and we are the creators of the term MPV: “Multirisques PhotoVoltaïque” (photovoltaic multi-risk) in the “all risks” format, with the loss of revenue extension including in case of grid failure, loss of access, etc., plus the civil liability for electricity producer’s extension.
